Hall of Heroes WHAT IS IT? A way to honor the veterans in our community by posting their photo, names, and dates of service in a designated hall near the entrance of Buckhorn for dedication on November 10, 2010 prior to Veterans Day.
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED? Anyone can be involved by nominating a veteran that went to school at Riverton or New Market High School, Buckhorn High School, had a child that attended Buckhorn or has lived or does live in the community. This is a community project designed to honor these individuals. Get involved by sending an 8x10 photo of the veteran along with a $20 donation to Buckhorn High School in care of Buckhorn Historical Society. All proceeds will go towards materials used in creation of memorial and teaching equipment for the Social Studies Department.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? The veterans of the Buckhorn and New Market communities deserve to be honored and recognized for their service to this country. Buckhorn High School and the Buckhorn Historical Society are dedicated to the creation of a memorial worthy of these gallant heroes
